Care:

Maintenance should be carried out periodically, or immediately after submersion or exposure to harsh environments (mud, sand etc)to ensure moving parts work smoothly.

Full personal protective equipment should be worn.

A full service of Vulcram should adhere to the following schedule:

1) Remove locking screw cap, grub screw and locking screw.

2) Remove internal shaft.

3) Tap the external shaft and hammer to loosen any debris caught inside. Use an air compressor if unsure that pipe is clear of debris.

4) Clean and coat the internal shaft with Lubricant.

5) Vulcram recommends LANOX MX4 by Inox for lubrication, or products with similar properties. Avoid silicone or petro-chemical based lubricants..

6) Remove circlip and pin from forked housing. Do not spread the circlip excessively during assembly or disassembly. Replace circlip if worn or deformed.

7) Remove Wedge, Lock Slider and Spring.

8) Clean all parts with a cloth - denatured alcohol, or alternative gun-safe cleaning solvents work well.

9) Coat the Pin and sides of Wedge with lubricant

10) Reassemble and function test.
